Outfits From Nana and Grandad

We got some cute pictures of the girls in their outfits from Nana and Grandad. I know that all mothers think that their kids are beautiful, but I really do. God has given me two amazing little girls. Riley is turning into a little girl right before my eyes, and Madi is this happy, smiling little baby. I love them so much, more and more everyday. Have I made anyone puke yet? Seriously, I couldn't imagine my life without them. Well I could, but as busy as I may be, I don't miss life before them. They are my life now and it gets hard at times, a lot of times, but it's all so worth it. I have a little girl that calls me Mommy and it's the best sound in the world! The other one screams all the time, but I'd rather hear her scream all day everyday then never at all, there is nothing like her smile when I come to rescue her from her unwanted nap!! Kids make you realize how blessed you really are. Tim and I don't have much, but we have a beautiful house, food to put on the table, two gorgeous babies, and a wonderful family. In times like these, I feel lucky to have just that, just that is what Tim and I have been praying for since we've been together. God is good.

Girls' Night Out??? Am I invited?

Guess so!!

New Finds

On Saturday I took my friend Tracy shopping with the girls. She moved here from Vermont and lives down in Murrieta. She loves to shop and also likes to bargain shop, so I took her to my favorite places. We spent most of our time at Home Goods and Tai Pan, I was going to take her to the best TJ Maxx in the world and Kirklands but the girls ran out of steam. They were angel babies on Saturday. Riley went without a nap all day long, we got a late start and got home around 4:00, instead of the usual 1:30 - 2:00. I can't even tell you how good Riley was I was so proud of her. Tracy fell in love with Home Goods and can't wait to go out again. Joy, it reminded me of the first time you went, I love Home Goods virgins. It changes their lives forever. So here are a few of my finds from Saturday. I still need so much stuff but I unfortunately don't have unlimited funds. That's okay though, it's fun to see my house transform with just a few small purchases. Plus, when I get it all done, what will I have to shop for? Clothes? Not as much fun, well it was when I was skinny. ;)

Some artwork for Riley's room. I'm so happy with the way this looks in her room, I just have to hang it! This makes a huge difference and I'm glad I found it before I found a rug and curtains, it allows me to pull from all the colors in her bedding, instead of just the blue.

I bought more lemons to fill up this puppy that my Mom bought me.

My martini glasses, I tried to get a pic of the simple design around it. I love them and Bohemians taste delicious out of them! Tracy was supposed to join us for Bohemians and dinner after shopping, but forgot that her other vehicle does not have enough seating for all three of her boys and her hubby. So we cancelled dinner, next time Tracy!

Pillows for my bench. I'm going to spray this bench a chocolate brown, or maybe a rusty red, still not sure which.

A new trash bin for my upstairs desk complete with some trash.

I also got two cake domes, but I have a feeling they are both going to my Mom so I can't claim one as my own just yet.

I Did It

I ran. Not very far, but I ran. Every part of my body jiggled, but I ran. I have not worked out in maybe two years? And even that was maybe for a week. I'm hoping that I can keep it up, we shall see. After my short but very real run, I did 200 crunches followed by 20 lunges, finishing with another exercise that at the moment I can't think of the name. Toe lifts maybe? You know the ones that tighten your calf muscles? Well, I did those. Now I want to go find my dance video so that I can free style before bed. Christmas of last year I had hit my pre-pregnancy weight. Since accomplishing that goal, I decided I guess that I could just eat everything in sight. Well, now, I've decided that if I want to eat everything in sight, then maybe I should start working out so that I don't start looking like I'm pregnant when I'm not. Plus I'd really like to get some muscle tone to my body again, like I did in college. Maybe it's wishful thinking but I thought if I blogged about it, I'd keep it up. Wish me luck.

Weekend Fun

We had a long weekend this past weekend, and it was a lot of fun. Saturday I took the girls shopping with me, I'll post about my finds later, and Sunday Tim decided that we should go down to the beach and rent some bikes. Now, I've decided that we need bikes, I think we're going to save up because we could ride them all around Corona and have just as much fun. So when we got there, we went with the Surrey because that's all they offered at the rental place we ended up at. I map quested one place and they had the little buggie things that tow behind a bike that the kiddos could sit in, but when we got there, it was off the beach and we'd have to take some busy main streets to get down to the beach so I decided, NO. Not doin it with two kids. Now when you see the pictures of us at the beach, beware, none of us look beach ready. When I checked the weather online, it said it was about 60 degrees out. So we were thinking jeans, long sleeve shirts, shoes even. We get there, people are running around in bikinis, flip flops, the whole bit, the weather was a little chilly with a breeze, but overall a gorgeous day. Of course, I cleaned my car out that Friday and had no back up outfits for the girls or anything. I found a dress in my diaper bag for Madi so she was the only one that got something decent, and she even looks a little out of place. Riley looked cute when we left in a sweatshirt and jeans, with pigtails and a hat, but she took out her hair, so she has this huge crease and she looks like a mess. Madi's hair fell out too so her hair is all over the place. So anyway, not like any of that matters, but I promise that I do know how to dress for the beach, I'm not a complete idiot. Hahah!! It was a fun day anyway, and Riley had a blast. Madi really liked the Surrey ride and screamed with delight. Tim probably didn't like the Surrey ride because I was a bit of a back seat driver in the beginning. I can't help myself. Sorry babe. Riley didn't want to leave and could have stayed there all day. What a great idea Tim!!

These next three pics are of Riley. When I put her down for a nap or for bed, she likes all of her stuffed animals all around her. She's a freak I know, but I finally got some pictures of it this weekend. Where's Riley?

Does anyone else have a fear of this? Ever since I didn't take this overpass to get back to work because I had a feeling we'd have an earthquake and that was the last place I'd like to be, and we actually had an earthquake, I've been deathly afraid of this overpass when it's stopped up. So I made Tim get off and back on at Hidden Valley. I know, I'm weird okay.

We saw these tourists on the corner, and I said to Tim, why do people insist on wearing their camera's around their necks and wear these Hawaiian shirts, do they want people to know they are tourists? And Tim said something like he's probably from Nebraska and is excited yada yada yada. Well, it was funny because he turned around and he had a Nebraska hat on. So we had a good laugh about that.

Riles was a little unsure of the water at first.

But then got into it.

Pretty little surrey with the fringe on the top.

Six Months

Well, another month has come and gone and Madi is six months old. I think this time around is going so much faster than the first. She is half way to a year, it's crazy! Yesterday we went to the doctor for her six month well visit. She got three shots and one oral. Poor thing, she SCREAMED bloody murder but by the time we left, she was all smiles again. She weighed in at 16 pounds 3 ounces and she is 27.5 inches tall. 50 percentile weight, 95 percentile length, and once again 25 percentile wee little noggin. She's so much fun right now. She can sit for longer periods of time by herself but I still have to set her up to sit. I can't just sit her on the floor and she's sitting and I don't have to worry about her losing her balance. Couple more weeks though and she should be there. She can get up into a crawling position if I can get her mad enough. She sleeps on her belly and she still gives me a hard time about sleeping. Her new thing is that she just fights sleep, it's so much fun. When she's on her belly and she's really mad that I won't just get her up, she gets up on all fours, but that's the only time I've seen it. She can scoot pretty good, but mostly around in a circle. She's starting to do more baby talk, you know ga ga, ba ba. When I ask her to say Mama, she does the movement with her mouth but nothing comes out, it's pretty cute!! Of course when I ask her to say Mama, I hear Riley wherever she may be saying, "Mama." She officially will take the pacifier to sleep but that's it. She's pretty much eating three meals a day, but sometimes that second meal is hard to give her, she does not always want it, but she does love her food. We tried a sippy today for the first time and she did good. She's wearing size 3 diapers and is wearing 12 months and up. I'm almost positive a tooth is going to pop up any day, but I could be wrong, we shall see. I'm trying to think of anything else I might eventually put in her baby book, because I'm still a bad Mom that has not even tried to find it. So sad. I'll make some stuff up ;) She is a total mimic right now and does not miss anything. She's a social girl and is the happiest when there is someone in her face giving her attention. She sleeps through the night anywhere from eight to ten hours, now if I could just learn to go to bed at a decent hour, I might catch up on my sleep. It's never been sleep when the baby sleeps for me. I just can't get myself to do it. There is not enough time in the day for that. So here are a few pics of my half of a year old baby.

Bridal / Baby Shower

I'm thinking that there really is no limit to our imaginations. I got an email a couple of weeks ago about cookies for a shower. My sweetie was throwing a combo shower. A bridal and baby shower. No the bride was not pregnant. There were two guests of honor. So they asked me if I could do a combo cookie. Originally I thought well maybe a flower, umbrella, cupcake cookie, something like that. But they wanted me to come up with bridal and baby on the same cookie. So, I came up with the idea of doing a three tier cake cookie cutter with the top two tiers decorated like a wedding cake, and the bottom tier as baby blocks. I sketched something out and emailed it to them and they said, yes, do that. They then requested a rattle on one side with a bottle on the other, with the babies initials in the middle block. Talk about detail, just writing all of this makes me tired!! They also requested pastel Hawaiian sunset colors, they asked for red, orange, yellow, and blue. I asked for something to color match and they said to just wing it, so here they are, my bridal/baby shower cookies. I was very pleased with the way they turned out but I don't even know how to categorize these on my website. Any ideas?
