Headcase Designs

It's 10:40 at night and I'm waiting for my husband to get home. He has been working a lot of hours. So instead of relaxing and watching the TV, I'm up here, making my husband a blog. He dabbles in some sidework. His love is cars, and motorcycles, and dirt bikes, and helmets, so I thought I'd get some pictures of some of the stuff he's done up on the internet. A few people have been asking him to do some things, and I thought, hey, I know a way to do some free advertising. So it's still a work in progress, but I thought I'd share it with you all. He is an amazing artist and can do anything. Don't limit him to motorized vehicles. He can do anything. If anyone is interested, email him at rushnine33@yahoo.com - please visit his new blog Headcase Designs

Thank You Grandma

Here are a few pics of when Grandma came over to see how Riley enjoyed her kitchen. Grandma likes to come over for lunch, I guess I make a pretty good turkey sandwich.

Mmmm, nothing like a good cheese burger for lunch.

I think Grandma is thinking about that turkey sandwich I'm about to make.

Riley giving Madison a sip of her cocoa. By the way, if anyone has Picasa 3, it is amazing. I'd recommend downloading it if you haven't already. Madison had some spit up on her chin and I was able to photo shop it away. Amazing!!!

Riley pouring herself some cocoa.

Madison having an ice cream cone snack.

Riley taking away Madison's ice cream cone snack. I guess she does not realize that Grandma bought the kitchen for her AND her sister. I'm sure one day, she'll figure it out!!!

Is it just me, or is my kid obsessed with the cocoa???

Look What Mommy Did!!

My Mom bought the girls an awesome kitchen for Christmas. I finally got a chance to put it together, with Tim working so many hours, I didn't want to ask him to put the kitchen together as well as Madison's crib and a million other things we have to do. So last night, when 5:00 hit, and I was off work for the moment, I decided I'd try to tackle the kitchen. If only I had taken the time to find Tim's cordless drill, I would have been done a lot sooner. So I screwed everything together by hand, and let me tell you, there were some long screws. Total, the thing probably took me about two hours to put together, including the table. I love putting stuff like that together though, so I really didn't mind. When Riley finally got to play with it last night, she was so excited that she shook. She was shaking, I've never seen anything like it. It was so great. She went from the kitchen to the stool to back to the kitchen to put something in the microwave., she likes everything hot. Apparently even her bananas are better hot, at least that's what I found in the micro this morning!! Mom, I wish you had seen her see it for the first time, I really should have waited for you. I know there are a lot of pictures here but I wanted to capture everything for my Mom. Thanks Mom, I think it's safe to say she loves it!!! I'm awaiting the batteries, see you at lunch. Then I can complete the whole thing!!

Here she is, all nice and neat, how Mommy likes it.

Her nicely hung utensils. Perfection.

I even washed some grapes for her, in her colander in the sink.

And after Riley played with it, I guess she's not into nice and neat like her Mom.

This morning after breakfast. I think she wants to eat her breakfast up here. Too bad, not allowed.

What's for lunch Mom?

Mmmmm, broccoli.

Here she is pouring her cocoa.

I just posted this one because of her curls.

She thought the pot holder was a bib.

Looks like a happy face to me.

After playing with it for a while, she decided it would be fun to go under her bar. Whatever...

A Little Bit Closer

I feel bad because I've totally stopped taking pictures of the girls, we've been so busy getting our house together that I don't think about it until I try to post something. Anyway, here are a few more pictures of the house, we are really getting closer. On Saturday, instead of working on the house, we did a little shopping. I bought the sectional we've been looking at and I also found a gorgeous bistro table at Tai Pan. Thank you Mom and Grandma for some early birthday money, with their help, I only had to fork out $130 for this table and I love it, love it, love it. The sectional fits perfectly into our family room too, all I need now is a nice big rug and some artwork and decorative items. That's the fun part. We also got the girls bathroom in order and partly decorated, it looks so cute!! All of our rooms are coming together but there is still so much that we need. I wish we were millionaires so that I could just go buy everything we need to finish the place, stupid budget!!! Anyway, enjoy looking at what we have done and hopefully soon, I'll be posting pictures of more important things, like the still screaming baby I wish you could hear in the background. I've been trying to get her to go to sleep since 8:30, I don't think it's working. So much for the cry it out method. Sometimes I wish I could tape a pacifier to her mouth, she refuses to take one for longer than 30 seconds, sorry totally off subject, here is the house.

Some artwork we hung in the guest bathroom.

The bar stools my Momma gave us, I love them!!!

The sectional we just purchased. I know what you're thinking, look at that light fabric and they have two kids!!! Don't worry, I got the stain protective crap thing they sell you. For $70 extra, we have it under warranty for five years and it covers EVERYTHING!! Plus Riley is not allowed on the couch with anything but water, and that's if we are sitting with her. Same thing goes for Tim, haha!!

The view from the kitchen to the family room. We are trying our table at an angle, what do you think?

Here is one of the chairs to my rustic bistro table. I really love this piece.

Here she is!! Please disregard the gay fake plant I have on the table, I really need decorator items.

Here is the other side of the living room. It was such an odd room and my Mom had the idea for the bistro table, I think it will be a great way to display my cakes when my clients come to pick them up, that way they don't have to totally come all the way into my house. This is my Grandma Kelley's couch that she gave us, I need to get some pillows for it.

Everything is coming together so nicely.

Here is the girls' bathroom. I'm loving everything about it so far, we're also planning some more fancy paint work in here.

The towels with ballerinas, so cute.

Our rose poofs, as we like to call them.

I found this bathroom stuff at TJ Maxx a while ago. It is all sparkly and plastic so that I don't have to worry about the girls and glass. Their bathroom is totally girl, sparkles and all!!!

What Happened?

I blinked I guess because Madison is already three months old. It's amazing how fast they grow. She's doing more these days and it's a lot of fun. I've gotten her to belly laugh a couple of times, all day long I've been trying to post a video if it but it's not working. She's a very social baby and loves to be talked to, she's actually quite nosey!! She talks way more than Riley ever did. Riley never cooed or anything, she was silent unless she was crying. Riley really only started talking around 18 months, talking has not come easy for her, I blame it on the sign language ;) But this is not about Riley is it??? Madison is so fun to play with because she smiles so easy. She also loves kisses, and loves her bath. I think she might roll over soon, maybe three weeks from now she'll be rolling. I catch her on her side all the time. She likes to look at her hands and her feet and anything else we put in front of her. She also loves to eat, she is definitely a pig!! I hope I'm not forgetting anything because the baby book is still...somewhere.

Here she is with Uncle Sean!! They both look so happy.

A Weekend of Firsts

This weekend we did a lot of things in the house for the first time, no not that, get your heads out of the gutter. I took some pictures of our firsts, I still feel like I'm playing house!!

The first dinner that I cooked. Usually when I make this, it's really good. It's a tomato and basil pasta with feta cheese and pine nuts. When I decided to make this, I didn't realize I didn't have all the ingredients or any spices!! Yikes, that's what happens when you don't move everything at once!!! So hear is my pasta minus the fresh basil, spices, and garlic, oops!!

I don't think Riley minded that it was incomplete, she ate it all!!!

Bottoms up

Looks like we didn't mind either

Tim and I decided that if we were having wine with dinner and the kids were up, we would not use our nice crystal. Here's to old blue!!

Our first load of laundry, Tim hooked up my washer and dryer, thank goodness!! And a special thanks to Jake who found us a dryer on the street!!! It works great, thanks to you, we only had to buy a washer!! Woo Hoo!!

The first time I used a diaper as a coaster...nice.

Furniture Frenzy

So this weekend we got almost all of our furniture in the house. It's not all exactly in the right place but it's here. I feel so overwhelmed because there is still so much to do. I'm also a bit of a neat freak and to have everything still out of order is getting to me. My kitchen is really big and I've never had an island before and getting used to it is hard. I have so much work space that I end up starting dinner in one place and finishing up in another!! I need my Aunt Diane to come help me organize my kitchen. The china hutch is in so that will help with storage but it's all still crazy. I'm waiting for the morning when I wake up and everything is perfect, I'll let you know when it happens!! Here are a few pictures of what's been going on. I'm not putting really good pictures up because I want to get everything in order before I show the finished rooms. It's more fun to get a sneak peak and then the real thing. Sometimes a room in progress is SCARY!!! A few tid bits...

This sofa my Grandma Kelley gave us and it's going in our living room. I love it, it fits in with the colors I've chosen better than I expected. We are purchasing a small sectional for the family room and after that, hopefully a bistro table and then we're done with furniture for now. Oh yeah, and two nightstands for our master, if anyone knows anyone trying to get rid of nightstands, let me know. It does not matter what they look like, we will refinish them!!

So can you say cake crazy?? Who knew a person could have so many cake pans!!

We kind of got the guest bedroom put together. This bed was the first piece of really nice furniture I ever bought. I'm so glad we have a spare bedroom to put it in!! The other two pieces in the room we have plans to refinish.

Here is the wonderful TV that Tim's parents bought for us!! We loooove it!! I have random decorator items all over the house, this is not the way it will look when we're done!

Ahh, doesn't my work space look soo much better???? Yes, that is a doughnut on my desk, but if anyone asks, it's not mine. Also, see the bathroom, it still needs to be cleaned and painted. My mom got our master painted this weekend, thanks Mom!!!

Some of us like to sleep instead of get any work done, but I'm not going to name names.

Riley is a bully, this is her pushing Ba Ba over on the tile. I don't think Ba Ba minds though, do you???

So where is my bed going???

To the right, now to the left, down, down. Perfect. Madison lets us know where to hang things.
